Questions

Frequently asked

The things people ask most. Still stuck? See the help centre or get in touch.

Getting started

Is it really free to start? add
Yes. Every account is free, and the whole Focus and Observe loop, telling your idea, researching the market, and getting an early patentability read, costs nothing. You only pay when you upgrade a specific project to build the application.
Do I need a new idea, or can I improve an existing product? add
Both. Start greenfield from a blank page, or brownfield from a product that already exists, uploading source material to your vault or pointing us at a website. We steer you toward genuine novelty, not a copy.
What can I put into my vault? add
Almost anything. Documents, images, web pages, audio, and even YouTube links, which we transcribe automatically. Uploaded images are described on ingestion, so everything becomes searchable, cited knowledge.

Pricing

How does pricing work? add
Accounts are free. You buy a one-time grade (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) for a specific project, all-inclusive within hard caps, with no meter after you upgrade. See the pricing page.
Are free deliverables watermarked? add
Yes. Deliverables generated in the free loop carry an IPGuru.ai watermark. Upgrading the project removes it.
What happens to my grade if I change direction? add
A PIVOT archives your current project and seeds a new one, carrying your work and your grade forward at no extra charge.

The process and patents

Does this replace a patent attorney? add
No. IPGuru complements attorneys. You arrive with a substantive draft rather than a blank page, which lowers the attorney's hours and your cost. You keep authority over every output.
What do I walk away with? add
Real documents: an invention disclosure, prior art findings, concept figures, drafted claims, a mock examination, a plain-English reading, and a single attorney binder ready for review or self-filing.
Which countries can I file in? add
Singapore national filing at launch, through IPOS, in English. More jurisdictions, languages, and the international PCT route are on the roadmap. See Patents explained.
What are the limits I should know about? add
We cannot guarantee a patent is granted, our prior art search is not exhaustive, and we do not patent software. Read the full what we do and don't.

Privacy

How is my idea kept private? add
Each project's knowledge base is private to you. Files you upload are scanned and kept in your vault, and unsafe items are quarantined before anything enters your base.

Ready when you are.

Start a project, tell Nova your idea, and see how far it goes.
