Getting started with IPGuru

IPGuru helps you take a rough idea and develop it with a crew of AI experts led by Nova. This page takes you from nothing to your first working brainstorm.

Four words you will see

Scenario: one idea you are working on. Each has its own conversation, memory, files and record. You can keep several and explore different directions in each.
Nova and the crew: Nova leads the conversation. Experts matched to your idea sit alongside her and add their view.
The Idea: the structured record of your invention that builds up as you work: what it is, how it works, who it helps, what is still unknown.
The score: how completely the Idea describes the invention, from 0 to 100. It is not a verdict on whether the idea is good or patentable.

Choose Try it now to brainstorm with Nova in a temporary space, with no account. Create a free account from the chat when you want to keep the work.

Create your free account

Choose Start free and sign in with Google or with your email. No card is needed. A free account keeps up to four active scenarios.

Choose New scenario

A short wizard opens, one question per page. First say what you are starting from: a new idea, a problem to solve, something that already exists, or a challenge such as a science fair, hackathon, assignment or grant.

Describe it

Write your idea, problem or topic in your own words, up to 5,000 characters. A rough description is fine. Then confirm the goal IPGuru suggests, such as getting a patent or winning a competition.

On the first page you can also tick extra pages to choose files, a theme, a thinking frame, your goals or your experts yourself. Leave them unticked and IPGuru chooses for you.

Check it and begin

Check it shows every choice, with Edit beside each one. Then choose how to begin. Expand my idea builds out your idea section by section and applies the strongest additions to your Idea. Start brainstorming goes straight to the conversation. The wizard marks the one it recommends for your starting point.

Meet the crew

Nova opens the conversation, with experts matched to your idea. Type in the message field and press Enter to send. Depending on the answer mode you choose, Nova answers for the crew or each expert answers in their own name.

Look at your Idea

Open the Idea to see what has been recorded so far and its score. The score rises as the Idea fills in. The Scorecard shows which parts are thin or missing.

Guided or Expert

The app starts in Guided mode: Nova suggests a tool when it would help and gives a short introduction to it. Expert mode has the same tools without the suggestions and introductions. Switch with the Expert switch in the app header at any time. Nothing you have made changes.

Finding your work again

My Work lists every scenario, each with its Idea score. Home shows your most recent scenario under Resume. A scenario's address in your browser opens the same scenario and tab, so you can bookmark it.

When a tool shows a lock

Some tools need a membership. A lock marks them and names the level that includes them. See Pricing for what each level includes. If a membership ends, nothing is deleted.
