Scenario Director

Give Director one job on a scenario and the checks that say when it is done. It works in loops: it reads your sources, researches the gaps, changes the Idea, and checks every criterion, until the job is done or it reaches a limit you set.

Set up

One question per page

Pick the job and the outcome

Set up Director opens a wizard like New scenario. Pick one job, then describe the outcome you want in a sentence or two. Each Continue saves the brief, so you can pick it up on any device.

Add your sources

Say which sources Director should use and what each one is.

Say what counts as done

Suggest checks proposes three to five checks from your outcome, Idea and sources. Mark each one Must or Nice to have, edit it, or remove it. You need at least one. Each check gets a badge, C1, C2 and so on, that follows it everywhere.

Decide who decides, and the limits

Choose whether Director applies changes itself or waits for your review, and, if you want them, the methods, limits and Studio pictures for the run.

Approve and start

Check it shows the whole brief and how it leads to the first loop. Approve and start fixes the brief for this run and starts work. Save and start later keeps it for another time.

While it runs

Follow every check

  • The dashboard has four views: Overview, Evidence, Decisions and History.
  • The criteria board shows, for each check, what backs it, what Director researched for it, what it changed because of it, and whether it is met.
  • Director's questions appear in the conversation, labelled Scenario Director. A question for you waits for your answer.
  • Every limit you see is enforced, and every control you use is recorded on the run.
  • Changes land in your Idea. Earlier versions stay in its history.
  • Director stops when every stop condition is met, or at the first limit, and says which.
A run that ends is not the same as a job done. Read the outcome against your checks. A high Idea score does not prove the objective was met. Scenario Director uses your allowance and is included with the Max membership.

Start from a question

On the Questions tab, a ranked question can open Director setup with that question already filled in as the outcome to research.
