You talk to your assistant. It carries your words to the IPGuru crew and brings back their replies. Nova and the seated experts do the thinking, as they do in the app. Use this when you want IPGuru's brainstorm without leaving your assistant.

Your assistant uses IPGuru's catalogues, the expander, the signals and the Idea record as tools, and makes the judgements itself. Use this when you want your assistant to reason, with IPGuru's method as the frame.

Both ways work on the same scenarios you see in the app. Anything your assistant starts, you can open at chat.ipguru.ai. Anything you start in the app, your assistant can pick up.

Sign-in

You sign in on IPGuru, and see what you allow

Your assistant opens IPGuru's own sign-in page. Sign in as you normally do, with Google or with your email and password. IPGuru then shows the assistant's name and what it is asking for. Choose Continue to connect, or Cancel.

  • Your assistant never sees your IPGuru password. It receives a connection that works only through IPGuru's MCP address. The connection renews itself while you stay connected.
  • You need a signed-in IPGuru account. Guest sessions cannot connect.
  • If you connect the same assistant again with the same permissions, IPGuru does not ask again.
  • Your membership still decides what you can do. Connecting an assistant does not add allowance or unlock features.

Access keysFor assistants that only accept an API key or a header. In the IPGuru app, open Account from the account menu, then Connected apps, and choose Make an access key. Choose its permissions and whether it expires after 30, 90 or 365 days or never. IPGuru shows the key once. Send it as Authorization: Bearer followed by the key.

If your assistant limits the number of tools

The main address carries every IPGuru tool. Some assistants limit how many tools one connector can have. If yours does, add only the parts you need, each as its own connector:

Scenario Director is only on the main address.

Good to know

Costs, timing and your record

  • Reading is free. Transcripts, the Idea record, signals, documents and catalogues cost nothing to read. Anything that puts the crew or a model to work uses your membership's allowance, the same as the same action in the app. Each tool says which it is. The IPGuru skill tells your assistant to ask you before it spends.
  • Long work keeps going. Each step answers within 45 seconds. A crew turn, a document or an image can take longer, so your assistant checks back until it is done. Work already started carries on even if you close the chat.
  • One record. Your scenarios live in your IPGuru account, not in your assistant. Two assistants, or an assistant and the app, can work on the same scenario. Your assistant can give you a link to open it in the app.
  • Your activity history shows connector use. IPGuru records which tool your assistant called, and when. That record does not include what was asked or answered.
  • Some work stays in the app. Prior-art searching belongs to projects, which you run in the app. Large files, such as big images and exports, open in the app.
  • Disconnect any time. In the IPGuru app, open Account, then Connected apps. It lists every assistant connected to your account and every access key, with its permissions and dates. Remove ends one within a minute, and Test checks IPGuru's side of it. Access keys are made there too, with the permissions and expiry you choose, and shown once. You can also remove IPGuru in your assistant's settings.

Troubleshooting

If something does not work

  • No IPGuru tools. Check that IPGuru is added, switched on for this chat, and signed in. Some assistants need a restart after you sign in. Check the address ends in /mcp.
  • The wrong scenarios. Your assistant is signed in to a different IPGuru account. Disconnect it and connect again with the right account.
  • A message that says scope_required. You connected without that permission. Connect again and allow it.
  • A message about your allowance or membership. Your membership does not cover that action. Connecting an assistant does not change this.
  • A certificate warning. Check the address is exactly mcp.ipguru.ai, and contact us. Never turn off your assistant's security checks.
  • Still stuck? Ask your assistant for the exact error it received, then contact us with the assistant's name, the scenario title and the time.
