Connect OpenClaw

Use IPGuru from OpenClaw

OpenClaw is an open-source personal AI agent. Add IPGuru as an MCP server, sign in with your IPGuru account, and add the IPGuru skill.

Steps from the vendor's own documentation. Not yet tested by IPGuru.

Add IPGuru

From the command line

Add the server

openclaw mcp add ipguru --url https://mcp.ipguru.ai/mcp --transport streamable-http

Include --transport streamable-http. Without it, OpenClaw assumes an older transport.

Sign in

openclaw mcp login ipguru

Your browser opens IPGuru's sign-in page. Sign in, check the permissions (Read, Write and Spend), and choose Continue.

Check it

openclaw mcp doctor ipguru --probe

This checks the connection and lists IPGuru's tools.

You can also use the Control UI: Settings, then MCP, then Add server. Choose Streamable HTTP and paste the address.

Add this to ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json, then run openclaw mcp login ipguru:

The IPGuru skill

Teach OpenClaw how IPGuru works

  1. Download ipguru-skill.zip.
  2. Unzip it into ~/.agents/skills/, so the main file is at ~/.agents/skills/ipguru/SKILL.md. For one workspace only, use that workspace's skills/ folder.
  3. Start a new session so OpenClaw picks it up.

Good to know

OpenClaw and IPGuru

  • First prompt. Start with: "Use IPGuru to open my session and list my scenarios with their Idea scores and app links. Keep this read-only."
  • An agent that runs on its own. OpenClaw can act without you watching. The IPGuru skill tells it to ask before it spends your allowance. If you do not want it to spend at all, set its OAuth settings to ask only for the read and write permissions. See its MCP guide.
