Connect Grok

Use IPGuru from Grok

Grok reaches IPGuru in three places: Grok chat on grok.com and in the apps, the Grok Build command line, and Grok Bot. Each is set up separately.

Steps from the vendor's own documentation. Not yet tested by IPGuru.

Grok chat

A custom connector

Open Connectors

Go to grok.com/connectors. Choose New Connector, then Custom.

Add IPGuru

Name it IPGuru and paste the address.

Sign in on IPGuru

Grok opens IPGuru's sign-in page. Sign in, check the permissions (Read, Write and Spend), and choose Continue.

On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector first, in the xAI console under Grok Business, then Connectors, then Add Connector, then Other. See xAI's guide to Grok connectors.

Grok Build

One command

grok mcp add --transport http ipguru https://mcp.ipguru.ai/mcp

Grok Build starts IPGuru's sign-in the first time it uses IPGuru. To edit the file yourself, add this to ~/.grok/config.toml:

The IPGuru skill. Unzip ipguru-skill.zip into ~/.grok/skills/, so the main file is at ~/.grok/skills/ipguru/SKILL.md. Grok Build also reads skills and MCP servers you already set up for Claude Code. See xAI's guide to MCP servers in Grok Build.

Grok Bot

Ask your bot to add IPGuru

xAI's documentation for Grok Bot covers connectors from its Marketplace. It does not yet describe adding your own MCP address. These steps come from published third-party guides.

Ask in a chat

Say to Grok BotAdd a custom MCP server called IPGuru at https://mcp.ipguru.ai/mcp

Say "custom MCP server", so the bot does not look for a Marketplace plugin instead.

Confirm and sign in

The bot shows the name and address. Check the address, then confirm. Choose Authorize on the card it posts, and sign in on IPGuru's page.

Use it

Type @ in a chat and pick IPGuru. IPGuru is then available to every bot on your account. Check it under Settings, then Plugins.

On Enterprise plans, your admin's MCP allowlist may need to include mcp.ipguru.ai. To give your bot the IPGuru skill, paste the contents of the skill's SKILL.md into a chat and ask the bot to save it as a skill called "IPGuru".

Grok and IPGuru

  • First prompt. Start with: "Use IPGuru to open my session and list my scenarios with their Idea scores and app links. Keep this read-only."
  • Too many tools? Use one of the smaller addresses, such as https://mcp.ipguru.ai/mcp/brainstorm. The overview lists them.
  • Costs, timing, permissions and troubleshooting for every assistant are on the overview page.
